Fingerless Mitts

My latest knitting creation has been fingerless mitts created for friends' Christmas gifts. I used Lee Meredith's Knit Gradient Mitts pattern found at lethal.net. I have to give credit where credit is due, Lee has simple patterns that knit pretty quick. Instead of making the mitts the exactly the same I reversed the pattern,so that they were the opposites of each other. I like how they turned out because they still go together, but aren't exactly matched--a bit quirky.

I truly like(d) working on the double pointed needles. I definitely got a few raised eyebrows when I uttered, "the double pointed aren't that bad, in fact I like them" at a recent knitting group that I attended. Starting out with the dangling, clanking needles is a like a special knitting charm bracelet that only you can wrangle into something worthwhile. I find that my knitting is most even when I am working in the round which I guess isn't all that uncommon, I just wish the beautifully even "v's" would make appearance in the rest of my straight needle knitting. A manifestation for the future I guess. : )
